Title
: Dealing With What Life Throws At You
Author : Barney Coombs
Pages : 128

Seasoned
pastor and author Barney Coombs, leader of the Salt and Light church network,
looks at how to cope with the adverse circumstances life often throws at us,
and how these situations can be turned into points of positive spiritual growth
that will lead to a greater intimacy with Christ, rather than embittering
us and dragging us down.
This book was born out of a wealth of pastoral experience; of praying with
numerous hurting and wounded people. The common factor in most of these cases
was that the person had carried an unhealed wound for a long time, sometimes
for numbers of years. The author often asked himself the following questions:
“Why does it take so long for wounded people to be healed?”
“What difference is Christian counselling making?”
“Where does the Cross figure in these sad situations?”
“Why do some people know they need to forgive and yet refuse to do it?”
These questions and more are answered with a depth of wisdom and plenty of down-to-earth practical advice.
